All motorized fishing vessels operating in Puntland waters must be registered with MOFMR and display a valid vessel licence. Registration links the vessel to its owner, gear type, and permitted fishing zones.
Eligibility
Vessel owner or authorized representative; vessel must meet safety and marking standards; engine capacity and gear type must be declared accurately.
Requirements
- Vessel inspection at designated landing site or port
- Submit completed vessel registration form
- Provide proof of ownership or lawful lease
- Install MOFMR vessel identification markings
- Pay registration and annual licence fee
- Receive vessel licence card and logbook
